Sony Music Entertainment ranked among Top 10 online music destinations

MUMBAI: Sony Music Entertainment has been named one of the Web’s top 10 entertainment music destinations by comScore Media Metrix, an online marketing research company.

Sony Music ranks #10 in the world among online entertainment music destinations, according to comScore’s June 2009 key measures report. During the month, Sony Music’s network of artist websites attracted more than 33 million visits and almost 20 million unique individuals globally. This rise in traffic reflects Sony Music’s ongoing focus on building Web destinations that offer clean and easy navigation, compelling user experiences that connect fans and artists, and innovative direct-to-consumer features. For example, Sony Music is leading the music industry by employing a globalization capability across its network that allows fans to automatically view their favorite artist sites in their local language, interact with other nearby fans and read regional news and information.

In addition, Sony Music continues to introduce new features that enhance the experience and functionality of its sites, including the opportunity to earn points and redeem rewards for loyal fans who visit frequently. There are also playlist recommendations in Sony Music’s on-demand audio streaming players that assist with music discovery by suggesting new tracks to listen to based on songs the user has already selected, and with the integrated lyrics function, fans can listen to songs and follow along with the words. With these unique features driving growth in traffic and visitors, Sony Music’s websites have become go-to destinations for fans as well as advertisers, including AT&T, Old Navy, Virgin Mobile USA and other major brands. Sony Pictures Television digital advertising sales is responsible for advertising and sponsorship sales for the Sony Music network.
