Sony Pictures ups McGrath as SVP national theatrical publicity

MUMBAI: Marisa McGrath has been promoted to senior vice president of National Theatrical Publicity. She will report to Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing & Distribution executive vice president of motion picture publicity Andre Caraco.

McGrath most recently oversaw publicity campaigns for films such as Zombieland, Julie and Julia, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, and 2012, which opened to $230 million worldwide last week. The promotion recognizes her leadership on those campaigns and she will continue to play a key role in orchestrating and overseeing the national launch of several films each year. McGrath will oversee one of two PR teams guiding releases from Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures Animation and select acquisitions.
