Stars removed from Hollywood Walk of Fame

MUMBAI: A whole lot of stars have been temporarily removed from the Hollywood Walk of Fame at Vine Street. However, these will be reinstalled in 2009.

The stars had been removed about three months ago, but their absence had gone unnoticed until recently. Normally, it is the Chamber’s preference that stars be preserved “in-place” during the construction of major projects with scaffolding built over and above to allow pedestrian access. In the case of the Hollywood & Vine project, construction was going to the curb, making it impossible to leave the stars in-place.

The stars have been placed in protective storage until they can be replaced as part of a rebuilt sidewalk at the conclusion of construction in 2009. The new development will be a major improvement for the area and will allow the stars to be showcased in a newly-revamped walk.< Page Break >
