MUMBAI: Shringar Cinemas’ Fame Multiplex will mark International Women’s Day on 8 March 2007 with premieres of two women centric films – Deepa Mehta’s Water and Bill Condon’s musical, Dream Girls.
The theatre chain has also rolled out special International Women’s Day offers at all its multiplexes across India. The first 200 women who come to Fame on 8 March to watch the film will get a ‘Fame Money Voucher’ worth Rs 50. Patrons also stand to get one ticket free for every ticket bought at Fame from March 5 to 8, says a company release.
Water, the Academy award nominee for Best Foreign Language film, stars John Abraham and Lisa Ray. Dream Girls has won two Academy awards, one for Best Achievement in Sound mixing and one for the Best Supporting Actress. The film stars Jamie Foxx, Beyonce Knowles and Eddie Murphy.
