Warner Music to launch online communities

MUMBAI: Warner Music International (WMI), a division of Warner Music Group and elHood.com, the online community for individuals with a passion for Hispanic content, inked an agreement that will see fully interactive official artist communities launched for music fans in Latin America, Spain and the US.

Under the agreement, specially created artist communities housed on elHood.com will feature on-demand access to Warner Music Latin America’s (WMLA) audio and video catalog, including full audio streams, music videos, interviews, live performances and behind the scenes footage of its award-winning artists.

Warner Music is the first music label to leverage elHood.com’s media sharing technology and Hispanic focused sales organization. As a result of the partnership, artists, including Mana, Alejandro Sanz, Luis Miguel, Laura Pausini, Motel and more will have a unique URL address on elHood.com, such as www.elHood.com/Mana, giving fans direct access to their favorite artists and their content. Members of the site will be able to stream full audio and video files from WMLA artists’ profiles, in addition to creating their own audio and video collections by dragging and dropping the files into their media libraries within elHood.com. Members will be able to enjoy, rate and collect music from WMLA artists, read their official blogs, post comments on their pages, and send them e-mail messages.

elHood.com and Warner Music will share revenue from advertising. Additionally, it will explore other distribution models in partnership with WMLA that will be tailored to the global Hispanic market.

“We are extremely excited to have Warner Music Latina as our first partner, as we set out to demonstrate the value of our technology, community and revenue generating capabilities. Warner Music Group has been at the forefront of the digital music revolution and I am confident that their expertise and powerful content catalog, combined with our dedication to the Hispanic market, will result in innovative services that will benefit elHood.com members, WMLA artists, independent artists and the Hispanic entertainment industry as a whole,” said Demian Bellumio, president of Hoodiny Entertainment Group, the parent company of elHood.com.

Warner Music Latin America head of business development and strategic partnerships Alfonso Perez-Soto added, “elHood.com represents a unique platform for artists to reach out to their fan base in Latin America, Spain and the US and we are delighted to be able to deepen the connection between musicians and their audiences via this innovative service. The combination of our rich content and elHood.com’s vibrant community will make each official site a must-visit destination for users seeking exciting and compelling interaction with their favorite artists and fellow fans.”
