Warner/Chappell Music signs deal with Matt Bellamy & Muse

MUMBAI: Warner/Chappell Music has signed a new agreement with Warner Bros. Records recording band Muse and songwriter / front-man Matt Bellamy, which will result in all of the group’s songs being administered through one publisher for the first time.

Encompassing the world excluding North America and Mexico, the new deal covers the award-winning group’s first three albums, Showbiz, Origin of Symmetry and Absolution, as well as related works such as live album Hullabaloo, b-sides and E.Ps. An earlier global deal covers the multi-platinum-selling Black Holes and Revelations, HAARP and future works including the new album The Resistance.

The band’s lead vocalist, guitarist and pianist Matthew Bellamy is also its primary songwriter and lyricist. His songs and the unique sound the band has created have met with critical praise and chart success around the world.

Warner/Chappell Music UK managing director Richard Manners said, "Muse continue to build their reputation as one of the finest rock bands Britain has ever produced and the most exciting live group in the world. We’re delighted that Matt has chosen to entrust his entire repertoire to us and forge this deeper partnership with Warner/Chappell. We’re particularly excited about the synchronization potential presented by Muse’s full, eclectic catalogue of instantly recognisable songs, unforgettable tunes and powerful riffs. Working in tandem with Warner Bros. Records we are well-placed to bring the full-force of Warner Music Group’s expertise to finding new ways to connect Muse and their repertoire with an ever-growing fan-base whilst also developing further creative and commercial opportunities for Matt Bellamy and his talents as a songwriter and composer.
