Malayalam industry’s ace actor Pratap Pothen, who is also commended for his work as a filmmaker is finally ready to get behind the camera and direct another film. And this time the director has a surprise for all as he has roped in Malayalam industry’s heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan. Not just that, the director also revealed that after finishing shoot with Dulquer, he has another film lined up with his father Mammootty. How we wish he would have brought them together for his film!
Pratap took to his Facebook page to post a page long update that came across as emotional. The artist took a trip down memory lane and recalled the time when he first met Mammootty. He further narrated how he decided to return to filmmaking. Pothen wrote, “SO after years 20 years after yatramozhi when i got the offer to direct a malyalam film again ..i decided to get a dream team together ……Anjali Menon agreed to write the script ….rajeev menon agreed to do the cinematography and she the script came into shape ….dulqar was my choice …not because he was mammoth’s son …but because i had seen ustad hotel and ok kamani …..and was captivated by him …i got the same feeling that i had when i saw his father that he was going to head for greater things ….”

Apparently ‘Bangalore Days’ director Anjali Menon has been roped in by Pothen to write the script. This made it easier to approach Dulquer who has worked with Anjali in the blockbuster film. The actor himself took to social media and announced, “It gives me the utmost honour to be a part of Prathap sirs untitled next. The film is penned by my dearest Anjali (Menon) and shot by the first director I ever faced the camera with, Rajeev Menon. Global Media who’s doing some exciting stuff including my present film with Rajeevettan (Ravi) are the producers.”
Well we cannot wait to see what this amazing team cooks up for the audiences! Dulquer Salmaan is currently working on his film ‘Smuggler’.
