[tps_footer]Malayalam film director Mohanroop who is known for his films ‘Kankal Ariyamal’, ‘Excuse Me Ethu Collegila’, passed away on Tuesday. Filmmaker Mohanroop who has directed more than 100 films, was reportedly found dead at his residence at Thrissur Mission Quarters, Kerala.

According to the preliminary reports, the 57-year-old director had died of heart attack. After finding him dead at his residence, neighbours informed the police. Director Mohanroop who was living alone after he lost his wife few years ago, was survived by a daughter and a son.
Director Mohanroop also made some documentaries and TV serials apart from his known films including ‘Nulli Novikkathe’ , ‘Varshangal Poyathariyathe’, ‘Sparsam’ , ‘Kankal Ariyamal’, and ‘Excuse Me Ethu Collegila’. He won the Dr Ambedkar Award instituted by Bharatheeya lalithakala Academy for his maiden Tamil film.

Mohanroop is also known for the 1983 popular film ‘Vetta’, which brought Mammootty, Mohanlal and Sreenivasan together on screen for the first time. He is known for his that film till date as he was only 21 when he made the film.[/tps_footer]
