While his big-budget, animated venture Kochadaiyaan gears up for release in May, the septuagenarian superstar is busying himself with his next. Rajinikanth is expected to commence shooting for his next film, titled Lingaa, which is the name of his daughter Aishwarya and son-in-law Dhanush’s little boy.
Said a source, “If all goes well, we might start shooting from the first week of May. I can’t reveal more details about the project at the moment.”
It has also been learnt that after Deepika Padukone, Rajinikanth is all set to romance Bollywood belle Sonakshi Sinha, in Lingaa. Director K.S. Ravikumar released a poster of the film on his Facebook page, which featured Rajini, Sonakshi, Anushka Shetty and A.R. Rahman.
Lingaa is touted to be a commercial entertainer with Rajinikanth reportedly playing a dual role. Sonakshi Sinha will apparently be playing the role of a girl from the 40s. Lingaa has two female lead characters; one character is that of a girl next door from the past era and the other one is a contemporary modern girl. Sonakshi Sinha was asked to pick her role and the actress has chosen to play the 40s girl, according to our source.
Lingaa is being directed by Rani Kumar and it will be Rajinikanth‘s fourth collaboration with the director. The actor-director duo has worked in some of the Tamil film industry’s biggest hits including Muthu and Padayappa.
Ravi Kumar has also written the story and screenplay for superstar’s upcoming film Kochadaiiyaan, directed by his second daughter Soundarya. Kochadaiiyaan is all set to hit the screens worldwide on May 09, 2014.
