‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain’: 500 Episodes, Not Out!

Balaji Telefilms ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’ on Sony Entertainment Television has finally completed 500 episodes. This series stars Ram Kapoor and Sakahi Tanwar in lead roles and explores the worlds of two personalities - Ram Kapoor and Priya Sharma who accidentally discover lover after they get married.

MUMBAI: Balaji Telefilms’ ‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain’ on Sony Entertainment Television has finally completed 500 episodes.

This series stars Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar in lead roles and explores the worlds of two personalities – Ram Kapoor and Priya Sharma who accidentally discover love after they get married.

‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain’ in its initial stages dealt with the issues of two middle-aged people who end up getting married to each other. Ram Kapoor is a rich businessman in his early forties, and Priya Sharma is a middle-class tutor in her mid thirties.

Ram’s younger stepsister, Natasha is in love and wants to get married to Priya’s younger brother Kartik. Younger kins, however, want Priya and Ram to marry first and then would they get marry. Both Ram and Priya have no choice but to say yes to the alliance and thus starts their journey together.

Currently the show has had a generation leap and there has been a brigade of new faces and characters that have been introduced.

‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain’ also marks the successful trilogy together for producer Ekta Kapoor and actor Ram Kapoor who first came together with ‘Ghar Ek Minder’ on Sony Entertainment Television followed by ‘Kasam Se’ on Zee TV.

Sakshi Tanwar also has a long association with Balaji Telefilms. She shot to fame when she was offered the role of Parvati in ‘Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki’.

Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar have both won The Dada Saheb Phalke Academy Award for their roles.

However Ekta Kapoor could not make it in time for the celebrations as she was busy standing by the side of her dear friend Anita Hassanandani who was getting married to beau Rohit Reddy in Goa.

‘Bade Acche Lagte Hain’ premiered on May 30, 2011 and is an adaptation of the Hindi novel ‘Patrani’ by Imtiaz Patel.
