Endamol’s popular reality show, Bigg Boss is all set to change hands. Well, Bigg Boss Season 8 will be on telecast on Life OK, instead of Colors.
Bigg Boss has had seven seasons till now. Sony Entertainment Television aired Bigg Boss Season 01 while the other six have been on air on Colors.
Salman Khan has been the face of Bigg Boss from the past four years while Arshad Warsi anchored Season 01, Shilpa Shetty anchored Season 02 and Amitabh Bachchan anchored Season 03.
Bigg Boss Season 7 by far has been one of the most controversial seasons and has irked positive as well as negative reactions for its viewers. Be it the Armaan Kohli and Tanisha Mukherji controversy or the romance between Kushal Tandon and Gauahar Khan, the show has made headlines all the way.
Bigg Boss follows the Big Brother format, which was first developed by Endemol in the Netherlands. It is a reality show based on the original Dutch Big Brother format developed by John de Mol. The rights to produce this show solely rests with Endemol and no one else can produce this show in this format except them.
Endemol has entered into an agreement with Colors to broadcast this show on their channel and once the tenure of the agreement lapses then they may consider taking the show to any other channel if they wish so.
Just a reminder, Bigg Boss started it’s telecast on November 03, 2006 on Sony Entertainment Television, then took a one-year break and on August 17, 2008 went on air on Colors. From then onwards it’s been with the same broadcasters.
However, when contacted, Deepak Dhar, Managing Director Of Endemol India, which produces the show, denied any such change.
Well all we can say is lets wait and watch, because according to our sources the official announcement of Bigg Boss shifting to Life OK is on its way soon.
