Yudh, Amitabh Bachchan‘s much talked about drama series that is soon on go on air on Sony Entertainment Television is apparently inspired from the international series Breaking Bad.
Breaking Bad is an American crime drama television series created and produced by Vince Gilligan. The show originally aired on the network AMC for five seasons, has the main protagonist, Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a struggling high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer at the beginning of the series. He turns to a life of crime, producing and selling methamphetamine, in order to secure his family’s financial future before he dies, teaming with his former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul).
Breaking Bad is widely regarded as one of the greatest television series of all time. By its end, the series was among the most-watched cable shows on American television. The show received numerous awards, including ten Primetime Emmy Awards, eight Satellite Awards, two Golden Globe Awards and a People’s Choice Award. In 2014, Breaking Bad entered the Guinness Book Of Records as the highest rated show of all time.
Now coming to Yudh, well its a story of Yudhisthir Skarwar (Amitabh Bachchan), an elite businessman who is caught in a psychological battle with himself and his health, an emotional battle with his family and a corporate battle with his rivals.
Yudh is a series where in Yudhisthir Skarwar will do all that he can to secure his film before his death and he too is surfing from inoperable lung disease. Wow now this sounds too similar.
Yudh stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Kay Kay Menon, Sarika, Zakir Hussain, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Himesh Choudhary.
Endemol and Saraswati Productions have co-produced the series. Yudh is a twenty part mini series be aired on Sony Entertainment Television.
