The talented actress Manasi Parekh Gohil will be seen playing the Modern Bahu in the adaptation of Everybody Loves Raymond
She may have been missing from the screen recently but the actress is back yet again with new & fresh show that is the adaptation of Everybody Loves Raymond where she plays the role of Raymond’s wife.
Manasi was last seen in Gulaal but the actress has been up to a lot during her sabbatical from television. Manasi reveals, ‘I was always acting, singing, doing ads, did theatre & performed at the Globe Theatre in London with my play ‘Maro Piyu Gayo Rangoon‘. I also ventured into production as we created 4 documentaries for a New York based charity organization & produced commercials. My music single Sanwariya was launched on MTV Roots as well.”
With her hands full with singing and production, we wonder what made Manasi get back to television as Maya on Sumit Sambhal Lega. The young actress says, “I was a big fan of Everybody Loves Raymond when I was in college so when they called me for the role of Debra, I was thrilled! We had the makers of the show down from L.A and there were workshops and rehearsals for a month before we hit the floors.”
Talking about her role, she adds, “Maya, my character, is a homemaker with 2 kids who constantly has lots of things up her sleeves. She is very smart, used to be a copywriter in Mumbai but has given up her job to take care of the kids. She is very clear about what she wants in life and doesn’t hesitate to speak her mind at all times. Maya believes that marriage is an institution in which one person is always right and the other person is the husband .This show throws light on marriage and its ups and downs brilliantly. I relate to Maya because even though I don’t have kids yet, I understand her position as a wife and a daughter in law. Every woman watching this show will completely relate to the kind of situations Maya goes through and love her journey.”
