OOPS! Sunil Grover’s LIVE Show Falls In A Legal Feud

Sunil Grover

Sunil Grover has fell in a legal soup due to his upcoming LIVE gig in Ahmedabad.

Sunil Grover has been doing pretty well after leaving The Kapil Sharma Show. He has been keeping himself busy by performing in LIVE shows and entertaining the audience with his same character, Dr. Mashoor Gulati.

He has performed gigs in cities like Delhi, Vadodara and even Dubai. His next show is in the Gujarat city Ahmedabad on May 27. But it seems that the show has caused some trouble for the comedian.

A local event organizer Rajpal Shah has filed a complaint against Sunil Grover and another local organizer Devang Shah accusing them of cheating and criminal conspiracy. Rajpal filed a complaint under section 417 and 120 (B) of IPC. On receiving the application, the court has ordered Navarangpura police station to conduct a probe under section 202 of Criminal Procedure Code.

According to Rajpal, Sunil’s manager and Devang had promised to hold the comedian’s event but have now turned down the contract for doing a similar show at a different location in Hyderabad, reportedly for more money.

Times Of India quoted a city lawyer, Ashish Desai explaining the matter as he says, ”The complaint is under cheating of criminal breach of trust contract. The complainant is at the loss of good-will and must have suffered some financial losses of cancellation charges from venue, security, hospitality team as well as must have gotten into some problems from the sponsors as well. Although, all of this needs to be proved in the court that’s when it will be taken in consideration.”

But according to Devang Shah, the matter is completely different as he says, ”We keep on getting 4-5 enquiries for one specific date regarding Sunil’s performances in India as well as abroad. In this case, we were not keen on doing the event on May 27 due to another concert happening on the same day. Rajpal Shah also enquired for the possibility of May 20, which couldn’t be worked out due to Sunil’s tight schedule. I returned him the advance amount of Rs 10 lakh. So there’s no case of cheating and I have all the bank-statements which I can present for the same.”
