TRAILER: Rishi Kapoor Impresses As Dawood In ‘D-Day’

Director Nikhil Advani and DAR Motion Pictures unveil ‘D-Day’ trailer. It has Rishi Kapoor playing yet another compelling character after his recent powerhouse performance in 'Aurangzeb'.

MUMBAI: Nikhil Advani who has previously directed romantic films, ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’, ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’ and the animated film ‘Delhi Safari’ is making his foray into the action-thriller genre with ‘D-Day’.

‘D-Day’ directed by Nikhil Advani, is produced by DAR Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment, and has an ensemble star cast comprising Arjun Rampal, Huma Qureshi, Shruti Haasan, Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor.

‘D-Day’ talks about the extradition of the most wanted underworld don Dawood Ibrahim from Pakistan to India, and has the versatile actor Rishi Kapoor playing Dawood Ibrahim.  But there is more to ‘D-Day’ than just Dawood Ibrahim.

The trailer of the film begins with visuals of present day Karachi, which itself is interesting to the film’s plot and shows four officers – Arjun Rampal, Huma Qureshi, Akash Dahiya and Irrfan Khan, who is a RAW Agent getting ready for a mission to nab the don. Their commanding chief, played by actor Nassar has set a date, when the most dreaded man would be taken into their custody. But what happens when on ‘D-Day’ the mission goes wrong.

The trailer introduces the characters and their story. Shruti Hassan, who earlier has played glamorous roles in films like ‘Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji and Luck’, plays a prostitute in the film. It will be interesting to watch if the actress is able to pull off this challenging role.

But the highlight of the ‘D-Day’ trailer is undoubtedly Rishi Kapoor and his notorious act as Dawood Ibrahim. He creates the buzz that is required, especially with his lines, “Duniya mujhe terrorist kehti hai, par janaab main toh business karta hoon.”

The film’s action-packed trailer and strong content focusing on terrorism very well creates curiosity and interest and makes us all wait for ‘D-Day’ which releases on 19 July.
