Salman’s Singer Backs Shah Rukh’s ‘Chennai Express’

SP Balasubramaniam makes a gala comeback with Rohit Shetty’s ‘Chennai Express’

MUMBAI: SP Balasubramaniam, best known for lending his voice for superhit songs featuring Salman Khan, returns to Bollywood with a peppy number ‘Nikal Na Jaye Kahin Chennai Express’ for rival Shah Rukh Khan

As the lyrics suggest, the song will be featured in Rohit Shetty’s new film ‘Chennai Express’. What is interesting that SP Balasubramaniam, who once sang for Salman Khan will now be lending his voice for his rival Shah Rukh  Khan.

The SP Balasubramaniam and Salman Khan combination was a huge hit in the 90’s. The singer has lent his voice for many of Salman Khan’s hit films like ‘Saajan’, ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ and ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ and is popularly known for songs like ‘Pehla pehla pyaar hai’ and ‘Dhiktana’.

The song teaser, released on YouTube became an instant hit and is creating a huge buzz. The peppy lyrics and the typical ‘Chennai Express’ flavour that the music has, reminds us of SP Balasubramaniam’s own hit classic ‘Mere Jeevan Saathi’ from ‘Ek Duje Ke Liye’, which featured Kamal Hassan and Rati Agnihotri.

Well, all we can say is that the rivalry just seems to have got more intense, with this new change of voice for SP Balasubramaniam. Whether the voice suits Shah Rukh Khan or not will be seen once the video version of the song releases. But we hope that this association between Shah Rukh Khan and SP Balasubramaniam stays, just like it stayed with friend-turned-foe Salman Khan.
