TRAILER: ‘Bombay Talkies’ Celebrating 100 Years Of Cinema

‘Bombay Talkies’ is set to release on 3 May, the day the first Indian movie ‘Raja Harishchandra’ premiered.

MUMBAI: Viacom 18 Motion Pictures has launched the trailer of the much awaited ‘Bombay Talkies’ featuring a multitude of stars: Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Randeep Hooda, Saqib Saleem, Katrina Kaif, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and narrated in the voice of Ranbir Kapoor.

An Indian anthology film consisting of four short films directed by Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee, ‘Bombay Talkies’ celebrates 100 years of cinema, this year.

The trailer promises a story of dreams, hopes, desires, thoughts, joys, pain, love and sorrow. The music by Amit Trivedi grasps you with its beauty and melancholy.

Rani Mukerji who was loved as a tough journalist in Rajkumar Gupta’s ‘No One Killed Jessica’ is once again playing a journalist. Her part is directed by her favourite filmmaker of the lot – Karan Johar.

Rani will be seen playing a journalist who is also sexually repressed wife of Randeep Hooda. Unlike Karan’s normal films where the sets are lavish, most of ‘Bomay Talkies has been shot at real locations in Mumbai (majorly in Bandra and Dahisar).

The duo of Karan and Rani were last seen together in the 2006 hit film ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ which won Rani the IIFA Best Actress Award. Rani Mukerji shot her way to success after Karan Johar’s debut film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’.
