The Queen of Bollywood is back! Here’s the awesome ‘Go Wakda’ trailer of ‘Aiyyaa’ featuring Rani Mukerji and Prithviraj Sukumaran:
Anurag Kashyap’s Aiyya, directed by Sachin Kundalkar sees Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji come back to the big screen after a short hiatus.
The trailer released by the makers of the film shows Rani in her whackiest ever avatar. She plays the role of a mischievous ‘Marathi mulgi’ who is ‘ready to get married’.
The promo starts off with Meenakshi’s (Rani Mukerji) matrimonial ad published in the paper, calling her ‘sharmeeli’ (shy), and soon enough you get a glimpse of a highly melodramatic meenakshi, who looks anything but timid.
Draped in a blue chiffon saree with a bonfire as backdrop, Rani reminds you of Sridevi breathing heavily to the song ‘I love you’ and the oversized goggles add a funny twist. Then in true Madhuri Dixit style, she does lavani complete with nose ring and ghungroos. After meeting many boys, she decides its not the fairer ones she wants, she likes darker men.
Soon enough she is love with a Malyali – Surya (Prithviraj Sukumaran). It is a quirky and funny love story with the backdrop of a West-South cultural clash.
With the tag-line “Go Wakda”, Aiyya is to release 12 October 2012.
