Bollywood’s busiest star Salman Khan is surely leaving no stone unturned to venture in a big way into production. The actor who is launching two new star kids on the block Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty is accompanying them on their promotional events too.
With the film ‘Hero’, Salman is surely taking in charge of both Sooraj and Athiya. Salman now donning the producer’s hat for the movie ‘Hero’ was recently asked about his perception on why actresses are paid less in the Bollywood industry. The question arose as an onlooker recollected that Anupam Kher on his talk show had said that Madhuri Dixit Nene was paid more than Salman Khan for the film ‘Hum Aapke Hai Koun’.
With the usual frank outlook, Salman replied to question of actresses being paid less than the actors saying, “I don’t think it’s true (Madhuri getting paid more) but I wish that it’s true. I hope the actresses, it’s all about what people want to see, the busier you get and the more the people want to see you that’s how your price increases. So if you can pull off a solo hero or a solo heroine film on your own and the producer makes that money, exhibitors and distributors make their money, so the producer does not have problem sharing that money.”
Adding to the same, the amazing crowd puller Salman said, “You can’t demand you need to command that.” The actor was much in news lately for having a tiff with actress Kangana Ranaut after she apparently refused to team up with Salman for the film ‘Sultan’. Kangana on the other hand has been labeled as the highest paid actress in Bollywood.
On the work front, Salman is busy with the film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ directed by Sooraj Barjatya. The handsome actor will share screen space with actress Sonam Kapoor. The film is all set to hit the screens on November 12 this year.
