Director Rajesh Mapuskar who started off his career with the film ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’, received great applaud for his execution as the man behind the lenses. However, not all is so rosy with the filmmaker lately.
According to reports, Rajesh was arrested on Tuesday night on the charges of domestic violence. Rajesh’s wife Nisha has complained against the filmmaker for the same. Rajesh is in police custody and is accused of forgery under Indian Penal Code Act 465, 468 and 471 and for domestic violence under IPC Act 498 A.
On the professional front, Rajesh has also assisted filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra in the films ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Munna Bhai’ series. Rajesh’s arrest has come as a shock as the filmmaker has been out of the limelight lately.
Nisha stated to a newspaper, “My husband has rented a plush flat in Oberoi Woods, in the vicinity, and has been paying around Rs 65,000 per month for maintenance,“. She added that Rajesh has not been paying the maintenance and has not even cleared the society bills since months.
Adding to her plight, Nisha said that she was forcibly admitted to Masina Hospital for three months, as her husband claimed that she was mentally unstable and needed treatment for the same. Nisha confessed, “While I was sedated, Rajesh was in an extramarital affair with Maheep Dhillon, the wife of Anil Naidu, President, Lintas Productions. Maheep had assisted him on Ferrari Ki Sawaari. He forged my signature and got me admitted into Masina. I was given 15 shocks though 12 is the maximum without my consent under the supervision of Dr. Machiswala, who broke doctor-patient confidentiality agreements by discussing my condition with the media claiming that I was mentally unstable. Do I sound unstable!”
Referring to the same, Nisha also commented that she has been receiving less than Rs.5000 as monthly expenditure from Rajesh and that Rajesh also forcefully tried to take the custody of the children. Rajesh and Nisha are parents to two children namely; Utsav and Zeal aged 17 and 9 respectively.
Questioning her fate to the fullest, Nisha said, “I married him and moved with him into a chawl because I was in love with him. We were happy living off his modest income. I never disturbed him on the sets of any of his films. My kids and I have been living off the gold I got when I was married, which is sold off now. This should never happen to any woman.”
