Lately, Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan who plays an important role as an advisor in Salman’s life had recently asked the actor to retract his controversial tweets defending 1993 serial bomb blast convict Yakub Memon who was given death penalty.
Soon after his father’s advise, Salman Khan deleted all the tweets where the actor had called Yakub Memon an ‘innocent’ and that his brother Tiger Memon should have been hanged. Well, in a recent interview Salim Khan who believes to keep his words straightforward said that his son has been targeted, as he is a celebrity and not because of his religion.
Salim Khan, a noted film scriptwriter, on Saturday clarified that Salman’s tweets were meaningless, however he is being targeted for celebrity status. He also said that his son should have not tweeted about something he has very little knowledge, it was his foolishness.
According to him, Salim Khan noted saying that many people had opposed the court’s verdict for the death sentence to Yakub Memon, but he thinks Salman‘s way of putting things was a bit childish and because of it Salman‘s celebrity status is being taken advantage of.
Many political parties who thought that his tweets pointed the judicial and government laws, protested outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence. Political parties including BJP, Shiv Sena and others were seen on the roads with some billboards and posters of Salman Khan’s films. The protest ended after the actor deleted all the tweets.

Salim Khan who minced every word while talking about the political attack on Salman Khan said that the whole protest was initiated by BJP president Ashish Shelar as he was upset by Salman Khan who had campaigned for Congress member Baba Siddique, who had defeated Ashish Shelar. Salim Khan who didn’t hesitate mincing any words even disclosed saying that Shelar had openly said that he would hit Salman hard whenever he gets opportunity.
Concluding his final words in the interview, Salim Khan also said that he didn’t believe PM Narendra Modi was ‘communal’ as alleged by the opposition party. He thinks one gets an idea of Modi’s thinking and ideology and if he cannot understand this, then he(Salim Khan) is a fool at the age of 79.
Following Yakub Memon’s convict, with serious turns and twists, Yakub’s case had finally reached to its end recently. Whereas Yakub’s brother Tiger is still absconding since the blasts took place. The 1993 blasts shook the nation to its core killing 260 people and injuring 1500 and more.
