Box Office: Not A Happy Start For Happy Ending

Box-Office-Happy-EndingTouted to be a different film by positioning it as a spoof on romantic comedies, the movie actually has something else in its reel. And seem to be getting in the list of movies that rode high on expectations, but turned out to be a sheer disappointment.

In spite of having an interesting ensemble cast of fine actors like, Saif Ali Khan, Ileana D’Cruz, Kalki Koechlin, Govinda, the makers failed to prove their art. The director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK have not went out of the way to impress critics and audiences. After Go Goa Gone, the expectations were higher, or should have raised a bar by giving something really unusual.
Among an unappealing storyline and improper placing of characters, Govinda outshines everyone else in the film. But, has a little screen timing. Hence, the so called formula of actors these days of taking a dig at themselves and joke is not working at all.
After good amount of promotional rounds, Saif Ali Khan’s Happy Ending’ does not seem to be giving a happy ending at the box office. The movie has opened to an average business. The film has seen the occupancy as low as 20 percent, and is showing even low business at the single screens.
With no big banner or big budget releases in its release week, and the previous release Kill Dil having doing an average business, Happy Ending stood a good chance to cash in good numbers, however, it now seems to have given a goo road to Kill Dil to manage and get more business comparatively.
