It seems to be the month of disappointers, all the movies that were expected to entertain audience and make good collections badly turned down. Well, coming back to Kill Dil which made its entry last week has been on a survivor mode until now.
Opened to not so good reviews by the critics, the movie seemed to have completely ridden on Govinda and Ranveer Singh’s presence as they are garnering praises from the critics and audience as well. Released over 2000 screens, the movie managed to make a fare business at the box office with its first day collection of Rs 7 crore (70 million)
Though it has not been a smooth ride, but the movie has managed collections of Rs 30 crore (30 million) in its first week at the box office. Starring power pack performers, Govinda, Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra and Ali Zafar, movie was expected to be a killer entertainer that hit the ‘Dil’ to the core. However, despite of negative reviews, the first week collections are fairly good.
Produced by Aditya Chopra, directed by Shaad Ali, will the movie manage to recover its cost? Well, it still stands a chance to make booming numbers at the box office, as this week’s release ‘Happy Ending’ doesn’t look to garner much at the box office due to less occupancy and poor performance on the single screens too. However, it has yet another competitor, Karan Johar’s much awaited Ungli. And with the trailer and songs the movie promises to be a fast- paced action filled genuine entertainer. Even Ungli has an interesting ensemble cast of actors namely, Kangana Ranaut, Emraan Hashmi, Sanjay Dutt, Randeep Hooda, Neil Bhoopalam and Angad Bedi.
The next week will be an interesting one at the box office, and for the trade pundits to analyse the collections of the top three movies Kill Dil, Happy ending and Ungli to have released back to back.
