MUMBAI: Unlike most of his contemporaries, Abhishek Bachchan will not be taking a day off from his hectic schedule to celebrate his birthday. The actor, who will turn 33 on 5 February, will be shooting for Excel Entertainment’s film Crooked, which is being directed by Abhinay Deo in Mumbai’s Film City.
"I believe one should work on important days. It is a good omen. I always feel that if you work on your birthday and on New Year’s day, you will work the year through." This is what Bachchan had said when he shot on New Year’s Day for a Satish Kaushik film opposite Kareena Kapoor, almost a decade ago. Though the film was shelved, Abhishek was kept busy the whole year.
This birthday is the same as always for the Junior Bachchan, who will be working. Currently the actor has got his hands full with some meaty projects. Films with good directors and good banners are in his kitty. The film with Ashutosh Gowarikar opposite Deepika Padukone is almost complete, while shooting for Crooked is currently underway. His next will be a film with Rohan Sippy.
However, what has caught everybody by surprise was AB Junior’s foray into the television beat as an anchor for a game show. National Bingo Night, which was launched on 23 January, opened with an astonishing TRP of 5.1, which has been a record high for any television show on the weekend. Success can only come with hard work and a healthy dose of good fortune and Abhishek Bachchan seems to be riding high on both counts.
