Yangaroo and MTV Networks Music Group enter agreement

MUMBAI: Digital media distribution company Yangaroo Inc has signed a multi-year agreement with MTV Networks (MTVN).

Under the agreement, MTV Networks Music Group will begin utilizing Yangaroo’s Digital Media Distribution System (DMDS) to have artist and music-related audiovisual content delivered to certain MTVN properties and to integrate DMDS into the company’s internal workflow.

MTV Networks Music Group includes music video channels MTV, MTV2, VH1, VH1 Classic, VH1 Soul, and Country Music Television (CMT) and CMT Pure.

As per the agreement, the music channels and Yangaroo will work together to both integrate DMDS with MTVN’s systems and to promote the utilization of DMDS by others to send content digitally to MTVN and other destinations. Initially, MTV Networks will utilize Yangaroo’s DMDS in the United States with MTVN having the option to extend its utilization of DMDS to other territories throughout the term of the agreement.

“By implementing Yangaroo’s cutting-edge DMDS 5.0 platform, we hope to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our music video delivery process while significantly reducing its environmental impact,” said MTV360 & VH1 Music Programming and Strategy senior vice president Emilienne Gray.

“We are very proud to have forged this alliance with MTV Networks. We believe this agreement establishes DMDS as the world standard for the digital delivery of television broadcast-quality music video content via the Internet and, ultimately, for the delivery of a variety of other digital content to broadcasters. To have MTV Networks, one of the world’s leading entertainment companies adopt our DMDS solution is very gratifying. We look forward to a long and successful relationship with them,” said Yangaroo president and CEO John Heaven.
