MUMBAI: Veteran Indian actor Navin Nischol passed away today (19 March, 2011) in Mumbai.

The cremation will be held in Mumbai today at 5 pm (IST) at the Santa Cruz (West) Hindu crematorium.

Nischol is best known for his comedy television serial Dekh Bhai Dekh. The actor made his debut in  movies with Saawan Bhadon in the early 70s.

Some of his recent films include Khosla Ka Ghosla (2006) and Break Ke Baad (2010), Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (2001).

Nischol starred in many hits of the 1970s like Buddha Mil Gaya (1971), Victoria No. 203 (1972) and Dhund (1973). The actor also starred in Punjabi movies like Aasra Pyar Da (1983) and Mahaul Theek Hai (1999).
