MUMBAI: Balaji Motion Pictures’ C Kkompany starring Tusshar Kapoor, Raima Sen, Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher and Rajpal Yadav, which is slated for release on 29 August, is packed with cameos by actors and even filmmakers.
For starters, the song featuring Ceilna Jaitely with Tusshar Kapoor is already on air. Balaji also roped in Sanjay Dutt for the title song of C Kkompany.
What more… even filmmakers like Mahesh Bhatt and Karan Johar have faced the camera for C Kkompany. Johar plays the role of a TV anchor who hosts Karan Banayega Crorepati, which is evidently a spoof on Kaun Banega Crorepati; whereas Bhatt displays his real characteristics in the film, by talking to the media and reaching out to the society to validate the actions of C Kkompany members – Tusshar Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Rajpal Yadav.
To add to all this, Kapoor’s character is named Akshay Kumar in the film. Ironically, although Akshay Kumar is dare-devilish in reality, Kapoor plays a meek crime reporter in the film. The film is directed by Sachin Yardi.
C Kkompany is Balaji Motion Pictures’ first independent production venture. Prior to this, the other films have either been co-productions or were made under the Balaji Telefilms banner.
