MUMBAI: Filmmaker K.C. Bokadia, whose film The Challenge has been ready for release since the last six years is trying to release the film in Diwali this year. The film stars Sunny Deol and Tabbu.
Bokadia says, “The Challenge will be released after Diwali. I am hoping that the film will release on 3 November. Talks are on with Bharat Shah and Adlabs to release in Bombay and other major circuits.”
The film, which costs Rs 100 million (Rs 10 crore) due to the delay in the release, “is a comlete family entertainer with good music, drama and action,” says he.
“It even carries a social message in respect to communal rights. Similar to his character in Gadar – Ek Prem Katha, Sunny Deol plays the role of a truck driver. However, unlike Gadar, here he plays a simple and honest muslim guy. He turns violent after a minister played by Ashish Vidyarthi victimises him. Mukesh Rishi plays the role of a jailor, while Govind Namdeo is the superintendent of police,” adds Bokadia.
The film is produced by his son, Amit Kumar Bokadia, under the banner of Sangeeta Pictures. Aadesh Srivastava has provided the musical score.
Pertinent to note here is the fact that the scrip of K.C. Bokadia Ltd has recently been suspended from the BSE Stock Exchange.
