Cricket match planned to promote Hattrick

MUMBAI: UTV has organised a cricket match between the cast of its forthcoming film Hattrick and a team representing Fedex, in Mumbai on Sunday.


The match between Hattrick 11 and Fedex 11 will be held at the Khar Gymkhana stadium. Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, UTV senior vice president, marketing, Siddharth Roy Kapur says, “We have tied up with Fedex, and their team has been chosen by an internal contest. The match is a promotional event for the movie as we would be releasing the film to coincide with the World Cup.”


UTV, that plans to spend an estimated Rs 30 million (Rs three crore) on marketing the film across the country, has also shot a music video called ‘Wicktet Bachao’, which is meant to be an anthem to cheer the Indian cricket team during the World Cup.


Hattrick, directed by Milan Luthria, is slated for a March release and stars Kunal Kapoor, Rimi Sen, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal.
