MUMBAI: The swashbuckling opener from Delhi is the hottest flavor this season. Gautam Gambhir has been quick to encash on the success that he merited after a great series in New Zealand. Having won the Man of the Series and the Man of the Match award for the last test match, brands were queuing up to sign him. Since he had only a few brands under his belt, he changed the company that handles his business and endorsements.
Taking a leaf from his captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Gambhir signed up with Mindscapes Maestros to make good his new fame. However, before the ink could have dried, the cricketer was on his way to South Africa to represent Delhi Daredevils in the second edition of IPL.
Post IPL, the players will have a few days off before they again venture out to England for the ICC T20World Cup. But one thing is sure, Gambhir will now be hard pressed to make time for home and family, keeping in mind the hectic schedule of top rung cricketers, be it Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh or Sachin Tendulkar.
