IIFA gets ‘Best Intl S. Asian Event’ award

MUMBAI: The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA), the pioneers to promote Indian cinema globally, have won the award for ‘Best International South Asian Event’ for excellence in promoting Indian films overseas. The award was presented by David Flint of Triangle Media Group (TMG) in London. The IIFA brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan was also given the honour of being the first international celebrity enlisted to the International Finance Facility for Immunisation.


 


Wizcraft director Sabbas Joseph, the organiser of IIFA said, “As organizers of Idea-IIFA Awards we are delighted to accept this award. This award is indeed a recognition of all the belief that our film industry leaders have ability to promote Indian films across the world.”


 


He further adds, “The awards hosted to date have not only been a success within the film arena attracting stars such as Angelina Jolie and Jackie Chan, but has had a major impact on tourism and business investment for the country concerned. Therefore, we hope that the success of Indian films continue to grow on a global scale.”


 


TMG was formed in 2003 and comes together from three corners of the world – Europe, the USA and Oceania. They are leaders in Global Media Diversity Online. They officially launched their online Global Media Awards in 2004 by working with Australia‘s senior media figure and World Legal Scholar, David Flint.


 


Wizcraft has conceptualized, produced and staged events in Mauritius, the UK, New York, Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, Iraq, Australia and Sri Lanka. The next award function will be held in Yorkshire.
