MUMBAI: Sajid Nadiadwala belief in the adage ‘No guts no glory’ seems to be paying off quite well. The producer had invested Rs 400 million (Rs 40 crore) in Jaan-E-Mann with a big star cast and a new director – Shirish Kunder.
The investment seems to have paid off as Kunder has delivered a film, which has become one of the hottest propositions. After breaking the record for the Mumbai territory for Rs 74 million (Rs 7.4 crore) and other territories too, Jaan–E-Mann has now broken the record for the maximum number of screen in the Mumbai circuit (includes city suburbs, Thane, Maharashtra and
Jaan-E-Mann will be released in 250+ screens in the Mumbai territory, which is much higher than that of Krissh and KANK (200+ screens). Nadiadwala has ensured that the best theatres and screens are available for his patrons.
Denis Selarka of Shree Asthavinayak Cinevision Ltd, the Mumbai distributor for the film, says, “Jaan-E-Mann is definitely a hot proposition and we are planning to release the movie in as many as 250+ screens in the Mumbai territory.”
The trade fraternity, which is the true barometer on which film is hot, is abuzz on how the various major distributors who had brought the film for a record breaking fee are not yet selling it to the sub distributors as is normally done. And after the release of 40 lakhs trailers and the first look of the film unleashed by Nadiadwala, the buzz has further been fuelled about Jaan-E-Mann being the biggest release for the festive season.
“Touchwood the film is so hot in the trade. I’m confident that our brand Nadiadwala Grandsons, which stands for complete entertainment, will fulfill everyone’s expectations with the release of Jaan-E-Mann. I’m sure everyone will benefit from Jaan-E-Mann,” says Nadiadwala.
It now remains to be seen how the combination of Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar along with Nadiadwala’s unbeatable block-buster track record fairs at the box office.
