MUMBAI: Kumar Sanu, the voice behind innumerable chartbusters, who also ventured into film production, is ready to release his next project after Utthaan.
The singer turned film producer is excited about the release of his film Yeh Sunday Kyun Aata Hai, which stars Mithun Chakraborty, Yashpal Sharma, Vijay Raaz and Kashmira Shah. The film is directed by debutant Kumar Rabinder and the lyrics are penned by Sameer, Sudhakar Sharma, Satya Prakash and Sahil Sultanpuri.
Speaking about his film, Sanu says, “The story of Yeh Sunday… is based on a real incident, which I witnessed some years ago. I saw four shoe-polish kids suffer the torture of Sunday when most of us are at home and their livelihood gets affected. That holiday becomes the most dreaded word in their vocabulary. The incident inspired me to make this film.â€
Quiz him about his singing career, which has been on the lower side of popularity post 90’s, Sanu states with a marked assurance in his tone, “I’m happy that Bollywood is witnessing the return of the melody in its compositions and I will surely be a part of this comeback,†he says.
