Paresh Rawal’s play to be adapted into film

MUMBAI: Veteran actor Paresh Rawal’s hit Gujarati play Maharathi, which he had directed and as well as enacted in a decade ago, will soon be metamorphosed into a film called – Chala Murari Murder Karne!


 



The film is backed by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision and the directorial reins are in the hands of Shivam Nair (of Soha Ali Khan – Abhay Deol starrer Ahista Ahista fame).


 



The cast boasts of seasoned actors namely Naseeruddin Shah, Paresh Rawal, Boman Irani and Om Puri along with Neha Dhupia. Another female lead is yet to be finalised. Uttam Gada, who has penned the play, will be handling the screenplay and dialogue departments of the film.


 



Slated to go on floors in September, the film is about a murder mystery that revolves around a wife’s attempt to bump off her husband by hiring a hit man. After the mission, the killer does not bring relief but grief to the wife by his cunning antics.


 




Director Shivam Nair and Paresh Rawal are currently in Goa, working out the other details of the film.
