MUMBAI: 2007 Academy Award nominee Penelope Cruz has expressed interest in working in Bollywood, preferably with Shah Rukh Khan, according to Hollywood.tv.
Cruz has reportedly told Hollywood.tv founder Sheeraz Hasan, “I love India. I have the rights to a book and we are going to shoot the movie in India.”
Cruz said, “I would love to work with him, and I am a great fan of Indian cinema.” Hasan met the actor, who has been nominated for her role in Spanish film Volver, at the third Annual Global Green Pre Oscar party held at the Avalon in Hollywood, California. The party was hosted by Cruz with other Hollywood co-chairs including Leonardo DiCaprio, Salma Hayek and Edward Norton, among others.
Cruz has worked in movies with Hollywood’s leading men, including Tom Cruise in Vanilla Sky, Nicholas Cage in Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, and in Sahara with Matthew McConaughey. She is now slated to begin shooting Manolete later this year, a film that tells the story of the famous bull fighter with Academy award winning actor Adrien Brody.
