MUMBAI: Preity Zinta has been nominated at the international Genie Awards for her performance in Deepa Mehta’s Heaven on Earth.
Zinta has been nominated under the Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role category. The film has also been nominated for Best Original Screenplay.
Her nomination is the first ever nomination by an Indian in these awards. The nominations were announced by The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television (ACCT) and the awards will be held on 4 April at Ottawa in Canada.
Heaven On Earth is slated to release in India soon under the title Videsh.
