Mumbai: Well-known filmmaker Ramesh Sippy has been appointed the new chairperson of the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).
"Yes, Mr. Sippy has been appointed the new chairperson of NFDC. The order came out yesterday (Monday)," an Information and Broadcasting ministry source told IANS. He will take charge from the outgoing chairperson, veteran actor Om Puri.
The 65-year-old, who has been part of the Hindi film industry for the past four decades, is known for making films like "Andaz", "Seeta Aur Geeta", "Sholay" and "Shakti".
