MUMBAI: Shahid Kapoor is back to work. After a short break with his friends in Goa, the actor is back in Mumbai, rehearsing for an awards show. Shahid will be hosting an award show for the first time.
The Star Screen Awards which will be held on 9 January in Mumbai, will kickstart the award season for Bollywood. The organisers have roped in Kapoor to host the show. According to a source close to the publication, “The brief was very clear. The host had to be from Bollywood and it had to be a new face. Sajid Khan and Karan Johar have been exposed quite often, while Boman Irani and Riteish Deshmukh have become the face of an international award ceremony. So the hunt was for a new face and who better than the surprise hero of 2009, Shahid Kapoor.”
