Sony BMG, Vishesh Films ink music deal for multiple films

MUMBAI: Sony BMG has tied up with Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt’s Vishesh Films for a multiple film music deal.

After a long-standing relationship with T-Series and Saregama, Vishesh Films has now moved on to Sony BMG with Emraan Hashmi and Esha Deol starrer Jannat as their first project under this deal.

Sony BMG managing director Shridhar Subramanium says, "Vishesh Films has had the unique distinction of creating musical blockbusters with new stars and path breaking music with Raaz, Murder, Gangster, Woh Lamhe and Zeher. It was only a matter of time before both the companies decided to leverage off from each other. Our relationship with Vishesh Films is symbiotic in nature – with Vishesh Films bringing in quality content and Sony BMG exploiting the music content not only in India, but on the Global platform."

Subramanium adds that this music deal is a multi-layered deal with new elements thrown in to ensure maximum exploitation not only of the content – but of various facets arising from the music.

Despite repeated attempts by Businessofcinema.com, Mukesh Bhatt was unavailable for comment.

Sony BMG also shares a strong relationship with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
