MUMBAI: Tony, who formed part of the Tito-Tony director duo in the early 1980s, is returning to filmmaking with a romantic comedy to be shot in the US.
Now, Tony aka Ramanjit Junega, will direct a love story, but will stick to his original name in the credits, it is learnt.
Sources say the film will be titled Hastey – Hastey… Follow Your Heart. The unit has already left for the US for a 40-day shooting schedule at New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and Atlanta.
The film which will also feature some American actors, stars Jimmy Shergill, Rajpal Yadav, Nisha Rawal, Monishka, Javed Sheik and Shakti Kapoor. The film is being produced by Ramanjit in association with Shivram Kumar and Ashutosh Bajpai. Anu Malik has been roped in to provide the music for the film, it is learnt.
Tito-Tony made films like Do Anjaane, Ram Balram and Mr Natwarlal in the 1980s. Aasman was Tony’s last directorial venture, which had Rajeev Kapoor in a double role.
