Yash Chopra to be honored at Pusan International Film Festival

MUMBAI: Yash Chopra will be felicitated at the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) this year and presented the Asian Filmmaker of the Year Award.

Yash Raj Films will also have a major presence at the 14th PIFF with the screening of four of our films – Lamhe, Dhoom 2, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and New York in the ‘A Special Program in Focus: Retrospective on Yash Chopra’ section.

The PIFF, the largest film festivity in Asia, will open on 8 October, 2009 for 9 days. Held annually in Busan (also Pusan), South Korea, it is one of the most significant film festivals in the East and has helped Asian Cinema grow successfully over the last 13 years.

Supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism / Metropolitan City of Busan, the PIFF attracts over 200,000 visitors and has over 10,000 participating guests from 55 countries.

Director of New York Kabir Khan, has also been specially invited to the festival.
