Vidya Balan played her very popular character ‘Silk’ in Milan Lutheria’s “The Dirty Picture’ produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. Movie is inspired by the life of Silk Smitha tells a love story between an actress and a director in a very dramatic way. Vidya Balan won two awards for her bold acting in the film. First, a ‘National Film Award’ for “Best Actress”, and then another ‘Filmfare Award’ for “Best Actress”.
