MUMBAI: It was quite a feat to get the real and reel Milkha Singh in one frame, and that is exactly what the makers of the Milkha Singh biopic, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ managed to achieve yesterday.
Seen at the trailer launch and music launch of the upcoming film were the real Milkha Singh and his on-screen avatar, played by Farhan Akhtar. The Flying Sikh, as Milkha Singh is known, was very happy to support the director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra translate his life onto celluloid.
Milkha Singh was seen in a dapper navy suit and a red turban, while Farhan, who plays the remarkable sportsman in the film, wore an olive jacket with grey slacks. The film’s heroine Sonam Kapoor looked ethereal in a white anarkali set and bright red lip paint.
Director Rakeysh clarified: “I will like to clarify that the film is not based on sports or about a sportsman. It is about the triumph of the human spirit.”
