MUMBAI: The very pretty and the very fashionable Sonam Kapoor was sighted at a panel discussion, to commemorate Youth Day in Mumbai.
In a flowing black and beige floral ensemble, Sonam upped the glamour quotient of the event with her effortless, ethereal style statement. Standing tall and proud, she spoke about how people have started sitting up and taking notice of her post the success of ‘Raanjhanaa’ and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’.
Said Sonam candidly: “I got good reviews for my performances in all my earlier films, be it ‘Saawariya’, ‘Delhi 6’ or ‘Mausam’, but people don’t remember that. It was just a case of my films not succeeding. With the success of both ‘Raanjhanaa’ and ‘BMB’, I guess, people are suddenly noticing me more.”
She also attributed her success to the challenging role of Zoya, in ‘Raanjhanaa’. “Zoya was a complex character and had a range and character graph, yet there had to be a balance. She couldn’t be completely negative or completely positive. She had to be both, she had to be real.”
Also spotted at the same event were lyricist Prasoon Joshi and politician Shaina NC.
