It’s A Boy! For Vivek Oberoi, Who’s Ready To Go On A Leave


MUMBAI: Wednesday, Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi’s wife Priyanka Alva gave birth to a baby boy. The ecstatic new father Vivek was quick to take to Twitter, early in the morning, to excitedly share his joy with the world: “Today is the most special day of my life! Priyanka and I welcomed our little angel into our world, a beautiful, healthy, divine baby boy!”

The actor who is next looking forward to ‘Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story’, added, “I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for all the love, duas, blessings, prayers & aashirwaad you have sent us! Our son is truly blessed!”

Vivek who’s been excited ever since his wife was expecting, plans to go oon a complete sabbatical now, we hear. Explained the actor, “The day I got to know that my wife is expecting, I wanted to be part of the entire process. So whether be it accompanying my wife for routine check-ups and tests or shopping for clothes, diapers, etc, I was always there. I want to be involved in each and every stage. All my producers know that as soon as Priyanka delivers I will go on leave. I will disappear from the film promotions. I am trying to finish my commitments before I leave.”

So it looks like the actor will not be making any promotional appearances for both Kumar Taurani’s ‘Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story’ set to release on 15 February and Anand Kumar’s ‘Zilla Ghaziabad’ set to hit the screens on 22 February.

Genelia D’Souza is a close friend of the Oberoi’s was among the first to congratulate the couple. She tweeted, “Congratulations @vivek_oberoi and priyanka, I’m sure its d most special day ever, can’t wait 2 see the lil 1.. Big hug”. Husband Riteish Deshmukh was next in line to add, “@vivek_oberoi congratulationsssssssssssssssssssssssssss brother- love to priyanka n the entire family.”
