Are we going to see Alia Bhatt doing a double role in her next project?
When we think of double roles instantly we think of Salman Khan’s ‘Judwaa’, Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Duplicate’ and Hema Malini’s ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’. In the recent times movies like ‘Dhoom 3’ and ‘Judwaa 2’ have been added to that list and looks like Alia Bhatt’s upcoming project is soon going to be included! If rumors are to be believed we will soon see Alia Bhatt in a double role!
Last time we saw an actor doing a double role was in David Dhawan’s ‘Judwaa 2’. Senior Dhawan’s directorial venture was a modern reboot of Salman Khan starrer ‘Judwaa’ (1997). ‘Judwaa 2’ featured his son, Varun Dhawan as the lead along with Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu. Despite the doubts of not living up to the original Salman starrer, Varun’s reboot was a hit at the Box Office.
Now reports suggest that David Dhawan plans on remaking Sridevi starrer ‘Chaalbaaz’ next. And the buzz is that he is considering the Highway actress— Alia Bhatt for the lead role!
During media interactions, Alia said, “When I had gone to him, asking to be cast in the next installment of Judwaa, David sir told me ‘I have a better role for you in comparison to Judwaa 3’. The next time I told him about my wish again, he said ‘Not in Judwaa 3, you have to work with me in the Chaalbaaz remake’.”
Apparently, the filmmaker has already started working on the script.
It definitely will be a treat to watch Alia do a double role! We can already imagine Alia as sweet Anju and a happy-go-lucky Manju.
‘Mom’ actress, Sridevi had stated in an interview if one of her movies has to be remade it has to be ‘Chaalbaaz’. The actress further added that Alia Bhatt will be perfect for her role. Praising Alia, Sridevi said that the young actress is spontaneous and a natural actor. Alia would be fit for the role as she can look both innocent and mischievous. Evidently, Sridevi has no objections to Alia respiring her role!
Meanwhile, we are curious to know who will fill in Rajinikanth and Sunny Deol’s shoes in the reboot?
For now, no official announcement has been made by David Dhawan or Alia Bhatt.
