Director Rajkumar Hirani and the makers of “Sanjay Dutt biopic” are moving fast with the casting of the film. According to the reports, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani has approached Big B, Amitabh Bachchan to play the role of Sanjay Dutt’s father, Sunil Dutt.

When the question ‘who fits perfect for playing the role of Sanjay Dutt’s father, Sunil Dutt?’ was raised, both the director, Rajkumar Hirani and Sanjay Dutt jumped on the same name, Amitabh Bachchan.

A source close to Sanjay Dutt said, “He (Sanjay) considers Abhishek his younger brother and Bachchan Saab a father figure. When the casting of Sanjay‘s father was being considered, Big B was the unanimous decision.”

“PK” director Rajkumar Hirani already approached Ranbir Kapoor to play the lead character in the biopic and the actor showed keen interest in playing such an iconic actor’s character.

“Portraying Sanjay sir on screen is a big task. And it comes with a huge responsibility. He’s had a very entertaining, engaging, and a roller-coaster kind of a life. I think Raju sir himself hasn’t decided if he wants to do it or not,” Ranbir had said earlier.

However, director Rajkumar Hirani plans to begin with the shooting of the film once Sanjay Dutt is set free from jail.
