With Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama, Padmavati already generating buzz for the star cast which sees Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone as main leads, has become one of the most anticipated films of the year.
Adding to star power is Sanjay Dutt. Surprised? The grapevine is buzzing with this news after Sanjay Dutt visited Bhansali on the sets of Padmavati last night which was to discuss his role in length. In fact, it was said that Bhansali wasn’t even aware Dutt is going to drop by on the set but as soon as he saw him, he quickly wrapped up his filming and caught up with Dutt for a good 2 hours or so.

An insider revealed to Mumbai Mirror that Dutt is going to join the ensemble of the cast for a special role. He said, “We did not know Sanju baba was going to turn up on the Padmavati set that day. Watching the two talk for such a long time without anyone else’s presence made everyone wonder if Bhansali sir was going to re-start his Khalnayak remake. Everybody knows that SLB wanted Sanju to reprise his role of Ballu Balram from the original Subhash Ghai film (Khalnayak). But we’ve been told that the two were actually discussing Padmavati at length. The actor is expected to join the ensemble cast and is rumoured to start shooting for a special appearance.”
