From Guns To Romance: Arjun Kapoor Speaks About ‘2 States’

Arjun Kapoor’s romantic character is completely different from what that actor has played in recent times.

MUMBAI:  He played bad boy in ‘Ishaqzaade’ and ‘Aurangzeb’ and is set to reprise it in ‘Gunday’, but will we ever see the transformation of Arjun Kapoor from holding guns to the die-hard romantic?

Well, certainly. Currently shooting for Abhishek Varman’s ‘2 States’ alongside Alia Bhatt, an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel of the same name, Arjun Kapoor convinces readers and says his character in the film is a lot like him in real life.

“I relate to the character and he is a lot like me in a sense. The characters I played in ‘Ishaqzaade’ and ‘Aurangzeb’ was not regular. Guns were always around my characters. This time I have cakes and flowers around me. Living a college life, working in a bank, travelling across India to woo my girl in love,” says Arjun Kapoor who plays Krish Malhotra, a Punjabi lad in the film.

‘2 States’ is about how two people from two different communities fall in love and convince their parents to accept them.

The actor who so far had a rough look in his previous films, will be seen sporting short hair, glasses and wearing jeans and t-shirt, a complete makeover from what Arjun Kapoor has done so far.

“It is more realistic and that is one reason we came to Delhi as the book brings the story here,” adds Arjun Kapoor who shot at the capital city.

It would be great to see Arjun Kapoor in a different getup all together in ‘2 States’. What is equally interesting to see Arjun Kapoor playing the die-hard romantic in more realistic fashion.
