At the press conference, Ameya said that his party is not against SRK and Karan. Their main issue is them working with Pakistani artists. He also stated that they had given 48 hours summon and today not even a single artist is in India. He said that the party doesn’t know if they are back in Pakistan or are residing in Dubai, but he assured that none of them is in India. Ameya further added that despite Fawad leaving India, their protests are not yet over. They won’t allow Karan’s ADHM to release here. The MNS member also said that Karan can delete Fawad’s role as it is minor. About Mahira Khan, he said that SRK can replace her as the film is not yet complete.
He added that the country comes first and then arts and culture. If these Pakistani artistes despite gaining fame and money in India refuse to condemn the terrorist attacks, then why should we allow them on our soil? He also questioned Varun Dhawan and Sushant Singh Rajput, who are supporting Karan that where were they when Indian soldiers were attacked by Pakistani terrorists! MNS leader Shalini Thackeray said that if the producers in future dare to cast Pakistani artistes in their films or serials, both the actors as the producers will be dealt in MNS style.
The party had also warned about the screening of M S Dhoni: The Untold Story in Marathi, as it would spell a doom for the regional cinema and said they would not allow the film to be screened. Hence, the film is not releasing in Maharashtra in Marathi language, it will be screened in Hindi.
The films, ADHM and Raees will be releasing on October 28, 2016, and January 26, 2017, respectively.
